Nothing is more interesting to me than a highly complex problem with a multitude of variables and disciplines involved.Whether as project leader, consultant, supervisor, or team member - the last years have been full of exciting opportunities to tackle real world challenges on the edge between science, industry, and society. I've learned that things are rarely as simple as they seem, but there is always new ways to look at things and many hidden opportunities to find.

Obsessed with understanding things in their holistic complexity and from as many perspectives as possible, I gathered education in many different fields.Rather than becoming an expert in one specific area, I aim to develop a profound intuition for the fundamental concepts and working methods of many fields. Keeping up in discussions with experts while retaining the birds eye view allows me to tie together what is often kept apart and helps to uncover those solutions hidden in the complexity of multivariant and interdisciplinary problems.I love to find new connections previously overlooked and am still amazed by the complexity and interconnectedness of the systems creating our reality.

Being able discover my own ways to impact the world for the better has always been a dream of mine.Through the ups and downs of my first - of hopefully many - ventures, I gathered precious experiences in business and the startup world. The fun side project that accidentally turned into a successful start-up
Combining our love for coffee with the ambition to make a positive impact, Cold Brew Crew aimed to not only produce the best coffee you ever had, but also ensured that every bean is fairly traded, all bottles are reused, and nutrients are brought back into the soil.It was amazing to see that our fast growing and loyal customer base shared the passion for our product and helped us reach profitability within months! In fact, it gained traction unpredictably fast, soon outgrowing our schedules. Therefore, although a successful business with great potential for growth, we decided to terminate this project and follow other passions.I am grateful for all the support we got from mentors, partners, and our friends and family. Especially my Co-Founder and dear friend Pedro has been an incredible source of inspiration, wisdom, and fun - significantly shaping who I am today.

Founded in 2020, the GreenHub Twente aims to become one of the driving forces in the transition to sustainable organizations and industries in the Twente region.As student consultants, our team was tasked to provide a detailed report suggesting organizational restructuring, process optimizations, and strategy improvements to increase GreenHub's impact. Containing a thorough analysis as well as clear, actionable advice, the final report was perceived as highly useful.

Together with my team, we took on the challenge to understand the causes, effects, and reinforcing feedback loops creating inequalities and injustices all around the globe.
Rather than finding solutions, our focus was geared towards the development of frameworks and methodologies which allow the identification of key variable and leverage points most important in a given context. Throughout all our efforts we were careful to ensure a value free approach, respecting cultural differences often overlooked in development projects.
On the way we created a map of over 1500 variables to show their influence on each other and visualize the complexity of the issue.

As the most efficient option for long distance transportation, airships could soon see a big comeback. However, along others, limited maneuverability is one of the big challenges to be tackled before widescale use.Our team developed and tested the prototype for a new steering system utilizing fast spinning wheels and the resulting gyroscopic effects to enable fast and precise maneuvers.

Algae are one of the prime candidates in our efforts to replace fossil fuels with carbon neutral propellants. However, a lack in scalable cultivation systems has so far been a major hurdle. Together with my team, we developed a roadmap outlying potential steps towards large scale algae farming in the open ocean utilizing autonomous submarines and repurposed fossil fuel infrastructure.

During this design project at the University of Twente we developed a low cost, portable water purification and storage system to improve accessibility of clean water in remote communities. Combining multiple frugal technologies, the final design is expected to achieve high reliability, and safety, while keeping costs and maintenance to a minimum.

In my TEDx talk "Do we really understand each other" I share my approach to professional and personal relationships hoping to inspire a more collaborative and respectful society characterized by learning from each other rather than fighting and polarization.
Public speaking coach
Training for my TEDx talk, I discovered that public speaking is a skill to be learned rather than a talent one is born with.Sadly however, this skill is often overlooked and rarely taught in traditional education. In collaboration with Professors at the UT we are trying to change that. Incorporating my 90 min workshops into the curriculum over various programs, I aim to pass on my passion and skills and impower others to tell the world what they have to say.

Being able to efficiently convert small amounts of heat into electricity could be a game changer for the energy management of our planet, especially when combined with efficient storage of said energy.Next to all my other projects I am therefore developing and testing tesla turbines and latent heat storage solutions which I hope could potentially be combined to build such a system. Even though I have been making steady progress such as improvement of disc stability at high rotational speed and back pressure reduction, many steps are still ahead and I am looking forward to continue my work whenever there is time and a workshop to use.

In today's world it is hard to untangle fake news, manipulation, and misinterpretation in media narratives. After in depth consultation with journalists, epidemiologist, philosophers, mathematicians, and computer scientists, I, therefore, developed the concept of Veritá with the help of two collogues.Veritá is an attempt for a highly formalized and transparent algorithmic approach to find the utmost unbiased truth. Executed by a decentralized system of nodes, sources from diverse geographical locations, demographics, and political viewpoints are analyzed regarding their credibility, coherence with other data, and logical correctness.
Combined with several intuitive user interfaces, the results will support journalists and readers all over the world to build well informed opinions and stay informed about ongoing history.
Solar Light
(2020-2021)
Solar powered mobility often seems like an unrealistic dream that if ever, will come with uncomfortable compromises.Aiming to challenge this believe, I decided to develop a light weight solar powered vehicle sufficient for the daily tasks in city traffic. Even though I sadly was never able to build the prototype due to a lack in funding and time, the design and development process allowed me to dive deep into solar technology, battery management, structural design, 3D modelling, simulations, and design sketching.
